Free Tuition Challenge
At Career Exploration and Success, we know how hard Rutgers students work! That's why we are the only office on campus that raffles off free tuition and other cool prizes to students who participate in our challenge.
Career Advising Appointments
Our career advisors are available to assist eligible Rutgers University-New Brunswick students and alumni with a range of career-related issues on an individual basis, such as:
- How Do I Even Get Started?
- Develop a 4-year Career Action Plan
- Assess Your Skills and Interests
- Choose a Major and Explore Careers
- Gain Experience through Internships, Co-ops, and More
- Consider and Apply for Graduate School
- Search for Jobs
The number of appointments scheduled with an advisor will vary depending on the career issue(s) needing attention. RBS–New Brunswick students may also access career advising services through the Office of Career Management.
Rutgers Handshake & Online Tools
Rutgers Handshake is the #1 platform for all things related to career success. Students can utilize this system to access thousands of job and internship listings in the system, plus schedule appointments with career advisers, read employer reviews from other students, network with employers, register for career events, access exclusive online resources, and much more.
To access, log into your Rutgers Handshake account, hover over the Career Center menu, and select Resources.
Courses & High-Impact Mentoring Programs
Courses and high-impact mentoring programs will help you gain confidence in your career journey, continue your growth within professional development, and help pursue your post-graduation goals. Our office encourages you to learn more about these experiential opportunities available to students.
Events and Workshops
Hundreds of programs are organized each year by Career Exploration and Success. Connect with alumni to explore careers, learn about employer organizations, participate in a career fair, and develop life skills.

Our office provides you with events, programs, and resources specifically designed to connect you with employers and full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities from a wide variety of fields.
Beware: Fraudulent Employer Scams
There has been an increase in fraudulent employment postings across the nation. Fraudulent employers are phishing for the unsuspecting. We have created a list of recently reported fraudulent postings and information on how to recognize and avoid job scams.
Post-Graduation Survey
Congratulations, graduates! As you embark on new life adventures, we ask that you share your future plans with our office by completing the Official Post-Graduation Survey linked below. If you cannot log in with your RUID and last name, please email Madeline Giordana, with your RUID, full name, major, school, and email address. Even if you have not decided on your next steps, you can still complete this survey before graduation.
Survey data will help guide our future job development efforts, allow us to create additional job leads for students and alumni, and will be shared with university administrators to provide data for future decision-making. You will be entered into a raffle to win your choice of Apple Air Pods or a gift card!
