The Office of Career Exploration and Success (CES) is developing a new strategic plan over the upcoming academic year. During this time the team will review the CES vision statement, mission statement, core values, critical enablers, and strategic pillars. New goals, objectives, and actions will be determined to guide the CES mission for the upcoming five years. Vision Statement
All Rutgers University-New Brunswick students, in partnership with the Office of Career Exploration and Success, will make successful transitions from their academic pursuits to their first-choice post-graduation destinations based upon clear understandings of the career development process, competitive credentials, access to a robust employer base, and mastery of strategies for identifying and securing career options that reflect their interests, skills, and aspirations.
Mission Statement
Career Exploration and Success (CES) supports Rutgers-New Brunswick students and alumni as they discover their interests, values, and skills, explore careers and academic pathways, develop career readiness skills through internships and experiential opportunities, and pursue post-graduate goals. We build connections with alumni, employers, and academic programs to optimize opportunities. We also create strategic partnerships with campus departments to assist students in developing and articulating co-curricular experiences that will help to ensure they are competitive in their future pursuits.

Provide Self-Discovery Resources
From the beginning of their Rutgers experience, CES assists students and alumni with identifying and clarifying their interests, skills, and values using a combination of career assessments, advising, and purposeful engagement programs.
Explore Careers and Academic Pathways
CES assists students with exploring careers congruent with their interests, skills, and values through connections with industry mentors, educational resources, and experiential learning. CES works with students to identify multiple pathways so they can reach their future goals.
Develop Professional Competencies and Skills
CES provides resources to help students develop career readiness competencies and obtain relevant experiences to excel in their future pursuits. The department also works with students to develop self-awareness, career confidence and independent decision-making, and persistence
Pursue Post-Graduation Goals
Whether the immediate goal is further education or employment, CES assists students in preparing for the application process, connecting with employers and other opportunities, and successfully launching into their post-graduation pursuits.
Strategically Increase Positive Career Outcomes
CES combines a data-driven, strategic, and community-centered approach to increase positive post-graduation outcomes for all, while focusing on quality and quantity of post-graduation opportunities.
