Career Exploration and Success

Assistant Director, Peer Mentoring and Discovery

As the Assistant Director of Peer Mentoring and Discovery, I create opportunities that get students involved and engaged with Career Exploration and Success at the beginning of their Rutgers experience. I oversee the Virtual Career Studio and the PCCs who are undergraduate and graduate students that provide entry-level career advising (i.e. interview skills & negotiation tips). In addition, I facilitate programs that focus on self-discovery, oversee the career curriculum implementation for FIGS, work with students in the ‘Still Exploring’ career cluster, and more.

Prior to joining CES, I worked at Stockton University as a Complex Director for Residential Life and as a Student Success Coach for the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program.

During my time as an undergraduate student, I transferred to William Paterson University of New Jersey (from Mercer County Community College), where I earned my BA in both Sociology and Africana World Studies. When I transferred to William Paterson, I didn’t know what career I wanted to pursue. So, I decided to get involved on campus by taking on leadership roles in Student Government and other clubs, working in the Student Center, and developing relationships with Faculty and Staff. Through these experiences, I fell in love with Higher Education and earned my MS in Higher Education Administration from Drexel University. Ten years later and my love for the field continues to grow.

I want you to know that even when you’re unsure of the direction that you’re going or whether you’re making the right decision, everything will work itself out! The only thing you must be willing to do, is try! And if you fail, you try again and push harder the next time around. I want to help you discover talents and skills that are within you and explore the range of opportunities that are around you.
