Assistant Director, First Year Engagement
I've worked with programming for first-year students since 2008 in areas including academic advising, new student orientation, and student activities. I joined the FIGS team in 2014, supervising new Peer Instructors and facilitating a section of our three-credit course on teaching. I also coordinate all Peer Instructor training and supervise our Senior Peer Instructors who mentor our new team. My advice is to pay attention to the kinds of projects, classes, and experiences that excite you, even when they might not seem career-oriented. There are clues everywhere about the kinds of work, types of environments, and sorts of people that will help you thrive.
