Why Join a Community

Career Exploration and Success uses a career development model focused on career interest communities. This allows students to explore career options more broadly versus focusing solely on academic major. Career Interest Communities are broad groups of careers that share common features, skill sets, interests, abilities, and activities. You can decide on a community by asking yourself, “Which community includes occupations that match my interests?” Our career advisors are subject matter experts in each career interest community who can help you explore opportunities and identify the skills necessary to pursue careers within that industry.
