Faculty Career Fellows

What is Faculty Career Fellows?

Faculty Career Fellows (FCF) is a new initiative jointly developed by Career Exploration and Success (CES) and the Institute for Teaching, Innovation, and Inclusive Pedagogy (TIIP). The program is designed to advance faculty development through a structured, cohort-based model that integrates an in-person workshop, synchronous communities of practice, asynchronous experiential learning, and a culminating project.

Goals and Benefits

This initiative empowers faculty to expand their teaching practice by integrating at least one NACE Career Competency into their syllabi, assessments, and assignments between Spring 2026 and Summer 2027. Across four cohorts—one each semester from Spring 2026 through Spring 2027—groups of 10 to 15 faculty will engage in a 3–4 month, immersive experience featuring an in-person workshop, synchronous and asynchronous modules, and a culminating project. Faculty who complete the program will be recognized as Faculty Career Fellows and receive a $2,500 professional development and research stipend in acknowledgment of their achievement.

Why Apply to Become a Faculty Career Fellow?

This initiative aims to strengthen connections among academics, students, and employers by demonstrating how classroom learning translates into workplace skills. Research shows that when students recognize these connections, their postgraduate outcomes improve. While faculty partnerships to embed career readiness have been effective at other institutions, this program represents Rutgers’ commitment to advancing this work within our own community.
