LinkedIn 101: Build a Career-Ready Profile (In-Person)

LinkedIn is more than a social media platform. It is where recruiters and employers search for talent, and where you can showcase your skills, experiences, and growth. In this introductory session, you will build or strengthen a LinkedIn profile that presents you professionally and highlights your value.

What You Will Learn and Do

You will leave with:

• A clear, professional profile foundation (photo guidelines, headline, and About section)


• A stronger Experience section that articulates your transferable skills


• Tips for adding skills, accomplishments, and campus involvement that employers look for


• A checklist to keep improving your profile over time


• Next steps for building your network strategically, including who to connect with and what to say

Great fit for you if you:

• Do not have a LinkedIn profile yet, or yours feels incomplete


• Want to stand out for internships, campus roles, and entry-level opportunities


• Want to further develop your professional brand


• Want to start networking with alumni and professionals with confidence

How to prepare

Bring a laptop if possible (a phone works too). If you already have a LinkedIn account, bring your login. Consider bringing your current resume or a quick list of your responsibilities and accomplishments.
