Summer Prep: Resume Refresh (In-Person)

Before you head into summer, make sure your resume reflects what you actually accomplished this semester. This end-of-semester tune-up will help you update your resume with spring wins from your student employment, classes, projects, and campus involvement. You will learn how to capture accomplishments while they are fresh, strengthen your bullet points, and align your resume with the types of summer opportunities you want, including internships, research roles, campus jobs, and other experience-building roles.

What You Will Learn and Do

You will:

  • Identify your strongest spring accomplishments and translate them into impact-focused bullet points

  • Update your resume sections with clearer language, stronger verbs, and measurable results when possible

  • Learn quick strategies for tailoring your resume to different summer opportunities

  • Make sure formatting and organization are clean and employer-friendly

  • Leave with a resume update plan and next steps for submitting strong applications

Great fit for you if you:

  • Want to apply for summer internships, jobs, research opportunities, or leadership roles

  • Have a resume but need a refresh after a busy semester

  • Want to better communicate what you learned and contributed through student employment

  • Want to finish the semester feeling prepared and confident for what is next

How to prepare

Bring a laptop if possible and a current resume draft (even if it needs work). If you can, also bring one summer opportunity posting you are interested in so you can align your updates with real requirements.
