Project and Time Management for Student Employees (In-Person)

Balancing classes, work, and everything else can feel like a constant juggling act. This workshop will help you build a realistic system for managing your time, staying organized, and following through on responsibilities without burning out. You will learn practical planning and prioritization strategies you can use in your student employment role and throughout college, plus simple project management habits that help you stay on track when deadlines pile up.

What You Will Learn and Do

You will leave with:

  • Learn how to prioritize tasks when everything feels urgent

  • Build a weekly planning routine that balances academics, work shifts, and personal time

  • Practice breaking bigger assignments or projects into manageable steps

  • Learn strategies for communicating workload and timelines with supervisors and teammates

  • Leave with a simple system for tracking tasks and staying organized

  • Want better habits for planning, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines

  • Want to reduce last-minute stress and build consistency

  • Want skills that translate to internships, leadership roles, and future jobs

How to prepare

Bring a laptop or phone if you can. If possible, bring your current class schedule, work schedule, and a list of upcoming deadlines so you can apply the strategies to your real week.
