The Getting to Know Chevron: A Day in the Life of a University Hire workshop is designed to provide students with an authentic look into the experiences of early-career professionals at Chevron. During this interactive panel discussion, attendees will hear from five Chevron employees who began their careers as Chevron interns and now support functions across Earth Science, Petroleum Engineering, and Information Technology. Panelists will share their career journeys, key decisions that shaped their professional paths, lessons learned along the way, and insights into transitioning from student to full-time professional.

Through personal stories and a live Q&A session, students will gain a deeper understanding of Chevron’s culture, values, and career opportunities while learning how to navigate their own educational and professional journeys. This session aims to inform, inspire, and empower students by showcasing real career paths and providing visibility into current opportunities within Chevron.

Purpose:

  • To provide students with firsthand insights into the career journeys of Chevron employees who successfully transitioned from intern to full-time employee.

  • To inspire students by sharing real-world experiences, challenges, and key decisions that contributed to each panelist's career growth.

  • To increase awareness of Chevron, its culture, values, and career opportunities across Earth Science, Petroleum Engineering, and Information Technology.

  • To create an open forum for students to ask questions and learn from professionals who have recently navigated similar academic and career decisions.

Goals & Expectations:

  • Students will gain a better understanding of career pathways available within Chevron and the energy industry.

  • Students will learn how academic experiences, internships, networking, and personal decision-making can influence career success.

  • Students will increase their awareness of Chevron's culture, values, and current internship and full-time employment opportunities.

  • Students will have the opportunity to engage directly with Chevron professionals and build meaningful connections that may support future engagement and recruiting efforts.
