Become a networking guru. HR leaders claim that their best hires come from employee referrals. When you find a job posting of interest, use LinkedIn to find someone with whom you are connected who is connected to someone in the company in which you are looking to work. Then, get this person to refer you. Networking will also open the door to the hidden job market.
