Program Director for Road to Industry Programs
Career Education & Engagement

I serve as the Program Director for Road to Industry Programs at Rutgers University Career Services. Road to Industry Programs provide career exploration opportunities and student-alumni mentoring. As the Program Director, I also perform a wide range of career advising, programming, alumni relations and administrative functions within University Career Services. Currently, I am excited to be working on The Road to Communication and Media, which is our newest Road to Industry Program.

I have 10+ years of experience in counseling, and programming planning, management and evaluation in both higher education and K-12 settings. When working with students, I counsel from a person-centered and strengths-based perspective. There is nothing better than seeing a student have a "lightbulb" moment where they discover their passion and become excited about planning for their future.

I earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in counseling from The College of New Jersey. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and I am certified as a School Counselor, Supervisor and Director of Guidance by the State of New Jersey Department of Education.

Career planning is not a linear process, and it is okay to change your mind! My first piece of advice for students is to focus on yourself (your skills, abilities, interests and needs), and resist the urge to compare yourself to others. My second piece of advice is to visit University Career Services early and often. It is okay if you are unsure of what you want to do with the rest of your life the minute you step foot on campus. We are here for you every step of the way!
