Information for Employers

Offer Acceptance

Once a student agrees to accept an offer to join your organization for either full-time, co-op or internship opportunities, we strongly encourage you to inform our office by contacting our employer services team at recruiting@echo.rutgers.edu or 848-445-7287. After you have notified us that a student has accepted an offer for a full-time position, they are no longer eligible to participate in on-campus interviewing opportunities.

Likewise, once you have notified us that a student has accepted an offer for an internship or co-op they are no longer eligible to participate in on-campus interviewing for internships or co-ops with similar or competing start dates as the accepted offer.

If a student reneges on an offer, please inform us immediately by contacting Janet Jones, Director of Employer Relations at jbjones@echo.rutgers.edu so that we may take appropriate action.

Fall Recruiting

If you extend an offer to our students at the end of a summer internship or co-op, we request that you give the student until November 1 to make a decision.

If you extend an offer during the fall recruiting process for internships or full-time opportunities (for the upcoming spring or summer), we request that you give the students two weeks or until December 1 whichever comes later, to decide.  If you extend an offer for full-time employment on or after January 1 we request that you give our students a minimum of two weeks to decide.

Spring Recruiting

If you are recruiting during the spring semester for summer internships or co-ops, we ask that you provide our students a minimum of two weeks or until March 12 whichever comes later, to make a decision.

Offer Extension Considerations

At times our students will make requests for extensions beyond these deadlines. We hope that you will honor these requests as an act of good will. This allows students adequate time to explore other opportunities and seek appropriate counsel to ensure that they are making the best possible decision.
