FIGS Peer Instructor Information Session

Tuesday, January 23, 2018 • 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Location: Gateway Transit Village, 4th Fl. (next to Barnes & Noble on CAC)

Are you passionate about your major and interested in teaching first-year students? Do you enjoy mentoring others? Are you looking for an experience to develop your leadership and professional skills? Do you want to stand out to future employers and graduate school selection committees? If you answered yes, then we invite you to apply to become a First-Year Interest Group (FIGS) Peer Instructor!

The Rutgers University FIGS Program is one of the few programs in the nation that allow undergraduates to teach their own courses. Peer Instructors (PIs) teach FIGS, a one-credit course, to aid first-year students in both their exploration of an academic interest area and assist in their transition to college. PIs create a course that blends important concepts from their academic interest areas with crucial information about Rutgers resources. To make this happen, PIs receive extensive support and training as they develop and implement their unique lesson plans.

Join us at one of our information sessions to learn more about teaching a FIGS and the application process. To access the FIGS PI application directly visit: https://figs.rutgers.edu/peer-instructors/teach-a-figs.
